In the framework of the Health Monitoring System, the Ministry of Health in co-operation with the WHO-Euro organised an educational workshop for the International Disease Classification System ICD-10 concentrating on the improvement of the quality of mortality data in Cyprus.
Doctors, nurses and secretaries from the Ministry of Health as well as officers from the Statistical Service and the Ministry of Interior participated in the workshop.
At the same time, there was an initial reference to the disease coding (morbidity). Some officers were selected for training in the morbidity coding, so another educational workshop will be organised for this purpose in the near future.
