National Control Programme for Foods according to the Food (Control and Sales) Law 1996-2014 and its relevant Regulations concerning quality and adulteration (and where authenticity is required). The following comprise the programme:
A) National Monitoring Programme of Foods from the Cyrpus market according to:
- Regulation (EC) 1169/2011 for consumer information on Foodstuffs
- Regulation (EC) 1924/2006 for Nutrition and Health claims in foods

B) National Surveillance/Monitoring program of olive oils and other vegetable oils
(local & imported), according to the Regulation (EC) 2568/91 and its amendments, for olive oil and mineral oil characteristics.

C) Control of honey quality according to the Cyprus Regulation ΚΔΠ 118/2004 (and the Directive 110/2001/EC).

D) Analysis of traditional foods for updating the "Cyprus Traditional Food Composition Tables".

E) Various small targetted programmes for foods that are consumed daily by a large part of the population, mainly children, and may contain high concentrations of sugar and salt (eg milk and yogurt desserts, school canteen foods such as rice wafers and rice snacks).
