Republic of Cyprus

The Food Safety Council (FSC) was established on 9th April 2003 by Ministerial Decisions (No 57682 of 9/4/2003), which was modified with No 60959 on 19/10/2004. The aim of FSC is the organisation, scientific study and co-ordination of various Services and Institutions that deal with food safety , as well as the communication and collaboration with the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). In particular, the Council approves the food legislation before it is deposited in the Parliament of Representatives.
