Pharmacovigilance and the use of medicines constitutes an imperative requirement for the better understanding of medicines and the identification of risks that were not know at the time of their registration and which are related to their use by the wider general public.
The careful monitoring of the use and safety of medicines, the collection of all possible medicine-related incidents and the immediate response of the Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Trials Sector with measures to protect public health are vital to ensure their safe use and are activities arising from the revision of the European legislative framework concerning Pharmacovigilance.
