The State General Laboratory, in cooperation with the Research and Education Institute of Child Health, is implementing the project “National Dietary Survey of the Cyprus population (Lot 1 & Lot 2)”. During this project the food consumption data of the Cypriot citizens will be recorded, according to the requirements of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), in order to evaluate the exposure of the Cyprus population to chemical and other hazards through food. It is the first official national pancyprian dietary survey according to EFSA requirements and it will cover all ages from infants to 74 year old including pregnant women. The target of the survey, which is in the framework of the “EU MENU” project of EFSA, is the harmonized collection of food consumption data in the EU Member States. The project has started in December 2014 and will end in February 2018.
