The State General Laboratory comprises 19 laboratories. Each laboratory is specialized and dedicated to its own area of work. The function and scope of each laboratory is stated in its own Quality Manual, which is a part of the SGL’s Quality Assurance System.
Ninenteen of the SGL laboratories (Lab. No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20 and 21) are accredited according to the European / International Standard EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
Fourteen (14) of the SGL laboratories (Lab. No. 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20 και 21) have been designated as Official Laboratories for the official controls of food (including drinking water) according to art. 37 of the Regulation (EU) No. 2017/625.
Seven of the SGL laboratories (Lab. No.1, 5, 8, 12, 14, 16 και 21) have been designated as National Reference Laboratories according to art. 100 of the Regulation (EU) No. 2017/625.
