The Cyprus Medical Council is the Competent Authority for the recognition of the professional qualifications of doctors and their licensing for the practice of medicine in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
The Medical Council of Cyprus is established on the basis of Article 3 of the Law on Registration of Physicians and consists of 7 members, 3 physicians serving in the Public Service and 4 private physicians. He is appointed by the Council of Ministers and has a two-year term.
The mission of the Cyprus Medical Council is to check the professional qualifications of doctors and to register them in the Cyprus Register of Physicians those who meet the requirements of the legislation, in order to ensure and protect public health and the health of patients as much as possible.
