Cyprus Medical Council

      The responsibilities provided by the Legislation to the Cyprus Medical Council are:

      - the maintenance of a Register of Doctors,

      - the recognition of the professional qualifications of the doctors, and their registration in the Cyprus Registry,

      - the deletion from the Register of Doctors, where deemed appropriate.

      The registrar keeps a registry, "The Cyprus Medical Registry" where the name, address, date of registration and other qualifications are registered. The qualifications registered in the Registry must be be approved by the Medical Council of Cyprus.

      The Medical Council of Cyprus may order either the punishment, or the deletion from the Registry, or stop practicing the profession of a Doctor who is convicted of any offense which in the opinion of the Medical Council is an offense of moral indecency or found guilty of dishonour or shameful conduct or has secured registration with false or fraudulent representations.
